Father's Day/M&M Reunion

Father's Day weekend was a blast this year. We got to go to a family reunion and spend the whole weekend with my dad's side of the family celebrating our late grandfather and the rest of the men in our family. Before we left however, I had a ton of homework and a huge test to finish before we could leave. One of my assignments was a cultural review for my humanities class. So, Brett and I went to the Idaho State Capitol building down the street. My review was about the architectural aspects of the building in relation to what we have studied in the class but Brett will be Brett and this is what really happened.

So that was super fun and turned and assignment run into a fun and memorable date. The next day we left for the family reunion and this vacation we even got to take Miss Bella. She was perfect and loved every minute following me around and eating all the scraps off the floor. She even did great on the car ride especially her newly inherited throne formerly known as my pillow.

She never tried to run away and she never tried to wander off. She was perfect.
We had a blast playing games, having an auction, celebrating my Grandmothers 70th birthday, and our fathers. The M&M Reunion (Max and Marie) is always so much fun and ever since grandpa passed is a chance to honor his memory and the legacy he left behind

We sang songs, went hiking, had campfires, laughed, and shared memories. It was a great chance to unplug from everything else going on at home, relax, and enjoy the world that was created for us to enjoy and spending it with those we love. This year, we had King Landon and his servants who then got kidnapped. Sawyer's tender care of Bella and crazy ping pong skills. The hike to Ross Falls. Grandma's birthday. Father's Day. Minute to Win It. Lincoln's first M&M Reunion. The annual auction and the talent show. We had such a great weekend with our awesome family! And... here is a crazy amount of pictures. Hopefully not too much of an overload... I like pictures...

And last but not least there was Father's Day. What a great day to celebrate the fabulous men in my life who have led and guided me, loved me, and always been there for me. My dad who has always taken care of me and provided me with everything I have ever needed and helped me experience and find the things that I love. My grandfathers who each have had their

own impact on my life and my experiences. My brother who has always supported me and helped open my eyes to more then the one side I naturally see of all situations. And my wonderful husband who works so hard to ensure that I am happy and that we live and love our life together and gives so much to serve not only me but also so many others. All of these awesome guys are fantastic and  I love them all so much for who they are and all that they have done for me.

Also my dad birthday today! SO, happy fathers day AND happy birthday Daddy! you are the best a girl could ever want. Thank you for supporting me, encouraging me, loving me, and teaching me about life and the importance of the gospel and of spending time with the ones you love. You have always been such a great example and I love you!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Mother's Day

So, I have been absolutely terrible at keeping up with this blog. But, I guess when I am working almost forty hours a week and only getting one day off between semesters, trying to stay on top of all my homework and still spend at least sometime with my boy and our puppy so they don't feel neglected I guess  all I can say is life here is super busy!
Mother's Day was fantastic! Brett was awesome and got all the men from church together to spoil us like crazy. Music,  lunch, roses, and chocolate. Fantastic. We love them!
Also,  I had a successful baking day! Yay! That never happens. I made a cake for my mother, my grandmother, and my aunts. I was so proud of myself. And... here it is. So proud.

Also, on Mother's Day My little cousins were all over. Brett had been up all day planning the awesome lunch and little program the men in our ward put together for us was exhausted. The only thing the little cousins wanted was for Brett to play with them. Landon begged and begged for Brett to play. So finally Brett told him that if he did 100 push-ups Brett would play with him thinking that this would deter Landon from his determined attempts to get Brett to play. Little did he know.. Little Landon did all of those one hundred push-ups so that Brett would play with him. This guy is awesome. He then spent the next few days at school doing push-ups and sit-ups and running during his recess time. He came home telling his mom he was stronger! Love it! Such a fun day.

I loved having the chance to celebrate the women in my life who have made such a difference in my life. All of them have encouraged and helped me to be the woman that I am and have the family and goals that I do. I love these women and the influence they have had on me and the unconditional love that they have showed me throughout all of the many year and moments of my life. They are truly wonderful and I love them!
